Now that I see it again on this list  a little correction:

I meant to say Bitstream Vera Sans at 8 Point - not ten. At least thats how 
they look good on a MEPIS (Debian based) system like the one's I'm currently 
at. Might be that it really has been 10 point at SuSE -> so it could be that 
the sizes shown in KControl and the real visible size of the fonts differs in 
those two distributions - resolution is the same.
