Investigating CFG framework for System Tools

I have been looking into configuration tools for a while already and haven't found config4gnu mentioned on kde-debian yet. I hope you too might welcome to hear about them.

Config4gnu or CFG for short is a framework for system configuration.

It just needs a meta-config-definition file to support a new package and can be used with generic fronteds (command line, GUI, etc.) to configure every option of an app.

A gtk frontend already exists (http://config4gnu.sourceforge.net/screenshots), a qt/kde frontend should't be hard. The best is that the frondend won't need any change to configure new packages. And the  meta-config-definition files can be kept up to date distributedly within their host packages later.

The CFG system itself is considered "fully functional" but will need a little initial work to actually employ it.
