Thank you for the debug log. It looks likely that kalarm is attempting to
migrate Akonadi resource calendars, but that this is not completing. KAlarm
doesn't create or initialise calendars until the migration completes.

Is this the first time kalarm has ever been installed on your system (since
installing Kubuntu), or did you previously use an older version of kalarm on
it? If so, do you know what version it was, or when it would have been first
installed?

To help find out why the bug is happening, could you please append an
additional line to qtlogging.ini, and run kalarm again to get new debug output.

    org.kde.pim.kalarm.akonadiplugin=true
