Bug#46462: document is not considered "modified" after replacements done by spell checker

Package: kate
Version: 2.0 (using KDE 3.0.2 )
Severity: normal
Installed from: SuSE
Compiler: gcc version 2.95.3 20010315 (SuSE)
OS: Linux (i686) release 2.4.18
OS/Compiler notes:

When I do a spell check on a document in Kate (using Tools/Spelling) and replace a misspelled word, Kate does not mark the document as modified. In other words, Kate does not show "[modified]" in the title bar, does not show the disk icons and does not allow me to save the document. Even if I make some normal editing modifications after spell checking, Kate still does not consider the document modified.

A workaround is to use "Save as" and overwrite the existing document. This also fixes the modification checking for normal editing: any changes made after "Save as" mark the document as modified like usual.

The bug occurs on a per-document basis: if multiple documents are open, only the document on which spell checking was performed is affected by the bug.
