Package: kate Version: kate2.0 (using KDE 3.0.2 ) Severity: normal Installed from: Mandrake RPMs Compiler: gcc2.96 OS: Linux OS/Compiler notes: Not Specified Where: Open/save dialog window in Kate, Kwrite. (It appears when you click File/Open...) On the left of this window you placed sidebar with shortcuts: "Desktop", "Documents", "Home", "Floppy", "Temporary files" and "Network" (default settings). Bug is in "Floppy". Default properties for this item: "Url: floppy:/" "Description: Floppy" Ok. Now I try to open text file from MS-Dos formated floppy disc. I turn on pre-view. All files on floppy disc look corrupted! Hmm.... I don't trust pre-view window and I open tekst file. The file is empty!! Then I try to open another text file from floppy, but appears error window with text "Access denied to drive A. The drive is still busy. Wait until it has stopped working and then try again.".The drive isn't working! It looks strange, I change settings for "Floppy". New settings: "Url: /mnt/floppy" "Description: Floppy" Now I try open the same file from the same floppy disc. This time everything works good, but new problem appears. Floppy drive doesn't want to stop and turn off. It's very annoying. To stop the drive I have to close Kwrite/Kedit or exec command "umont floppy" as root. I don't get it. It seems to me, that Kwite/Kedit doesn't allow to stop the floppy drive. Why? Everything works fine when I use cdrom. The both deviced are mounted by supermount. I didn't change file /etc/fstab : /mnt/floppy /mnt/floppy supermount dev=/dev/fd0,fs=vfat,--,iocharset=iso8859-2,umask=0,sync,codepage=852 0 0 /mnt/cdrom /mnt/cdrom supermount dev=/dev/hdc,fs=iso9660,ro,--,iocharset=iso8859-2 0 0 (Submitted via bugs.kde.org) (Complete bug history is available at http://bugs.kde.org/db/47/47077.html)
