Sorry for being unclear. Is Akonadi multithreaded?!

The problem I have is that while kmail is filtering it keeps the network connection until new mails can be filtered (at least thats what I think) and so the connection is timeing out when using an av and spamassassin with online-checks enabled. So mails arrive multiple times and other with a big delay.
When akonadi does it the same way, the problem persists. (as it fetchs and filters the mails)
I thought akonadi is much more than a "kmail backend" ;)
