Has anybody tried that yet?

If you haven't tried it, please do! I'd recommend to make a copy of your data 
and try to upgrade a test installation. This is the only way we can resolve 
potential problems before releasing Kolab 3 final.

I guess you don't want to run into issues later when you want to upgrade your 
production system to version 3, so please test it and give feedback!
