Feature Request #2: basic material

Me again,

this time, I'd like to discuss the opportunity that each new primitive 
automatically comes along with a Pigment colored to .7, .7, .7 (for example) 
when first created... Frequently, I'd rather like to focus on modeling rather 
than creating materials (especially when experimenting), so this short-cut 
would be really useful. Perhaps it could be set in the Preferences, because 
we wouldn't impose this to all kpm users...
