(thumbnails-digikam.db) only stores very small images, usually 256x256 pixels. 
If you set large thumbnails, 512x512 is also possible, or 1024x1024 is 
possible with a 4K screen.

Your only option is to recover the hard drive if you don't have a backup. Good 
luck if you still have something readable.
