Hi,

If you want a native version of digiKam you can compile source code
(you must install all dependencies before). I can provide some
guidance here...

For the AppImage, current 8.8.0 pre-release is available here :

https://files.kde.org/digikam/

For a digiKam Debian package up-to-date, I don't know.
