Hi,

digiKam does not copy the files in a "collection" folder.

A collection is a place where digiKAm will scan the contents. No need to
duplicate the files after all.

Just go to digiKam setup/Collections and add a new entry pointing to the
wanted directory to catalog.

https://docs.digikam.org/en/setup_application/collections_settings.html#set=
up-root-album-folders

Best regards

Gliles Caulier
