Hi Charlie, with dates I had a similar problem to yours, and I reported it: https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=3D511229 My problem is not the same as the one reported in Reddit, though, since individual pictures still all have their date, and I can sort them by date. It it the selection/ filtering by date via the "Dates" pane, which does not work for me. I have two solutions: a) use the AppImage instead of using the distribution package b) rebuilding the database (going through XMP Sidecar export & import) - this at least worked for a part of my collection Regards, Vlado Am Donnerstag, dem 09.07.2026 um 00:02 -0700 schrieb Charlie Gorichanaz: > I think I may have been noticing this excessing rescanning as well as > another problem related to timestamps but haven't had any time to > debug: Sorting by camera date completely stopped working for me > recently and the dates disappeared from the listing screen, but the > metadata is fine for the photos, similar to this Reddit > post:=C2=A0https://www.reddit.com/r/digiKam/comments/1q3yqrg/exif_date_cr= e > ated_not_shown_in_digikam/ > The lack of people reporting this made me think it must be something > particular to my setup or that I messed up, hence waiting to say > anything.
