Virtual keyboard does not start

Hi!
I bought a new bluetooth keyboard. It doesn't always work when starting the
computer. So, I installed a virtual keyboard Maliit. It shows up on the
loginscreen, but does not open by itself nor by clicking.
Any ideas what to do?
I use Tuxedo on Ubuntu.
