I am not a technical person so I am not sure how this relates to what you 
wrote here, but how would all this affect the RSS feeds? I, and I assume that 
many others, access the dot and the planet through RSS feeds. Would all these 
options in the planet be reflected in the RSS feed subscription? If so, then I 
think this is wonderful, because after selecting what I want to see in the 
Planet the RSS feed would reflect my choices. But if that is not the case, 
there would be inconsistencies between what I see in the Planet page and what 
I get in the RSS feed, and then I would have more doubts about whether this is 
a good idea.
