It seems pretty clear from this thread, which has already been immensely 
helpful to me, that KDE Platform and KDE Development Platform are two different 
things. If I have understood this correctly, then, what we release on Release 
Day is the KDE Platform. The KDE Development Platform includes other elements 
(even apps like KDevelop, as Aaron points out). Two key issues arise here then 
(I am summarizing as they have been identified before):

1. If KDE Platform is what we release on Release Day, when do we use KDE 
Development Platform?

2. Part of the confusion seems to be the presence of the word 'platform' in 
both terms. Thomas suggested getting rid of the ambiguity by using KDE 
Development Suite instead of KDE Development Platform. Other options could be 
KDE Development Tools, or KDE Development Toolbox. What do people think about 
this?
