Quick reaction, haven't read the thread yet: It's really hard to come up with
a title for news if we want to highlight individual products (and not forget
one).
Imagine:
- "KDE releases KDE Plasma, Platform and Applications 4.5.1"
- "4.5.1 brings stability and translation updates to Plasma workspaces,
applications and platform"
Both are way too long to be snappy, and hence to be copied as well.
If we do combined releases ("release days", "release events"), we need a
snappy name for the whole of what we release, listing it all is
- hampering us in bringing out a real message (compare "new versions of
Plasma, Apps, Platform, eh" with "KDE 4.7.3 Brings Focus Follows Mind")
Hence SC in the 4.5.1 announcement. I'm not happy with it, but I'm also the
one who has to deal with practical implications of the new branding. This is
something we need to find a solution for if we want the branding to be
effective.
