Actually, no. It's a shortcoming of our terminology. It's simply not very
practical to replace "KDE 4.x.y" with "Plasma, Apps, Platform 4.5.1", since
that's way too long and steals space necessary for *important* info. It also
leads to it being replicated by the press as "KDE 4.5.1 Released" -> back to
square one.

Everything I've heard until now (and that includes the whole "SC" idea) sounds
just clumsy and doesn't feel practical. It's doable in paragraphs of text, but
it's pretty much impractical for producing headlines.

It works well if we're talking about specific products ("Plasma 4.5.1's
Notification Area Kicks Some Serious Ass", but it's a real pain for our SC
releases. (And worse, there are plans floating around for KOffice and Amarok
to join the dance. "KDE releases KOffice, Amarok, Plasma Desktop & Netbook,
other Applications and Platform" (wordy-wordy, no content as to *what* is
significant about the release...).

(We all know that I'm not opposed to the re-branding, but it *does* annoy the
shit out of me, because it's really hard to implement properly. And it annoys
me even more that after _months_ of trying, I'm still not comfortable with the
whole thing and regularly fail at writing proper announcements.
