I've changed it into "K Desktop Environment 1 was the inaugural series of releases of the K Desktop Environment (now called KDE Software Compilation)" and also tried to get rid of "KDE" as description for the software, replacing it with "K Desktop Environment" -- hopefully that'll increase the awareness of KDE being an organization.
