Sure, we/I didn't get as far as I would have liked in making a good template 
for releases this time. For the minor releases it should just be [insert a few 
highlights from the list of fixes, change version numbers and date and it's 
ready to go]

You still got it done though, which is the main thing :-) I know it's easy to 
criticise after the event

Yes, even if you just make a shared doc available a week or so before the 
announcement needs to be complete I'm sure people will help. I will.
