Others may disagree :-) I can certainly see the appeal of a competition though... On the other hand, if an independent company wished to sponsor such a competition, that is a different issue. So I cc Frank in case OpenPC and/or one of their hardware partners might be interested - there is also associated publicity of course (a couple of Dot articles announcing the competition and the winner, mention of the prize and sponsor on e.g. YouTube video pages). Nokia could also be worth talking to if we wanted to pursue this, since a phone with a video camera could also be an appropriate prize (they donated a prize for the Plasma Javascript Jam session - although also as I understand it KDE e.V. paid for attendance at a KDE event as a prize too) > Would be good timing as well as we head towards 4.6. Thoughts? Timing wise, I think this would probably be a bit tight to get it done by 4.6, however, we could announce the competition shortly afterwards and have some cool videos in place by 4.7 releases. What do you think? Cheers, Stu _______________________________________________ This message is from the kde-promo mailing list.
