Prizes are always motivating but what would be great would be to be
able to count with KDE support for some of the video spendings. Maybe
after recruiting a small tema of film-makers we could analyse their
project and see were they needed help to succeed.

In other hand, for a contest I would try to have a prize that appeal
to the indie moviemaker so that all that talent at vimeo started to
work for us ;)
