You know, being the person who does most of the work, I'm getting sick of 
people accusing me of screwing up release announcements. To a point where it's 
easier for me to just ignore it, altogether. That's not what happened, but 
what's becoming more and more likely, thanks to emails like this.

Being friendly and patient would go a long way not making things worse.

We never did this for minor releases, as we're simply lacking manpower.

If you're in to it, feel free to put up proposed texts for upcoming releases 
on Etherpad, or better yet: Work on the 4.6.0 one, that badly needs attention 
which I will be unlikely to give.

Because I do the work? It's not about veto rights, it's about practicalities  
when writing an announcement. If you think something's not good, don't just 
propose a "change everything to this"-patch (we had these before, making 
things worse. Do explain what exactly and why you want things changed. Some 
changes might make sense, but your patch made it hard to distinguish those 
from more gratuitious ones.

I didn't commit it for the following reasons:

- your patch is hard to review
- I don't agree with some of the changes you made
