It is a possibility, could save some travel money for some people. My initial reaction is to be a little against having the sprint in Berlin as we'll have the desktop summit there later in the year. However, with LinuxTag it could make sense > If we close the date soon enough, I can even give a talk related with KDE > at linuxtag :-) In fact...we all can, right? Alas, some of us might not have time for both :-( Related to the sprint, I have an offer - in principle - for hosting in Southampton, UK [1] with a room, wifi and possibly some free food (maybe some free lunches). There would also likely be an opportunity/requirement to take part in an event that would involve presenting KDE to computer science students, which could be a good recruitment opportunity :-) I'm going to go and see the venue on Wednesday and talk to the hosts and then I should be able to provide some more info. Southampton has an airport (IATA:SOU) [2] with links to Düsseldorf, Frankfurt, Paris-CDG and a few others is on trains from London Gatwick (LGW) and indirect (London Underground, then direct train) from London Heathrow (LHR). It's also a short train journey from Portsmouth ferry port [3] (various ports in northern France). Gatwick and Heathrow are about 1-2 hours away, depending on trains, coaches. time of day etc. Bournemouth (BOH) airport has links to Spain, Portugal and Italy and is about 1 hour from Southampton by train. It would be good to get some reaction before I look at the venue on Wednesday of whether you think Southampton could work for you.
