It explicitly includes only the Qt > for X11 release. That's not the same thing as explicitly excluding. I'd say it very much does. See page 3, third paragraph, at the end: "For the avoidance of doubt, the aforementioned definition does not cover the Qt toolkit for other platforms (e. g. MS Windows, Macintosh, Symbian). The parties agree that the extension of this Agreement or a similar a greement, if any, to platforms other than the KDE Window System shall be subject to future negotiations between the parties" Which is curious, because KDE on Windows can replace the Windows shell with Plasma (granted, it's not complete yet), which IMHO would make Microsoft Windows another "KDE Window System" platform. > Besides, what gain do you want to have from a BSD-licensed Qt that you don't > from an LGPL-licensed one? Static executables Take a Qt widget, modify it to customize with some weird behavior or UI, and have no obligation to release the source At work we do both of the above. -- Pau Garcia i Quiles http://www.elpauer.org (Due to my workload, I may need 10 days to answer) _______________________________________________ This message is from the kde-promo mailing list.
