About Edu, maybe you could focuse on Step (physics simulator) and KTouch 
(learn to touch type) which both have a new maintainer. Kalzium as well has a 
new maintainer for about 1 year. Presenting the current developer, asking him 
how he joined, presenting the software and look into the future, I think that 
would be very interesting and stimulating for potential new contributors!
I can act as a link between those and you :)
The Skrooge developers also are very interesting (I know them as they live in 
my town): one of the devels never was in Free Software, he did not know this 
community and now he is totally in. Also how they work: one is blogging, 
promoting, the other is coding (and he is very very good). I guess if I had 
writing, I could write a book as I have trouble stopping right now ;)
