commercial side of KDE?

Hi,

One of the possible ways to get "commercial side of KDE" done could be 1)
making the portal more e-commerce like + 2) outsourcing majority of work.

By saying *e-commerce like* i mean it could be done similary as an
ebay/amazon, where users, *both home and commercial*, could find offered:
* services - locations and names of the local and regional companies, who
provides all kinds of KDE related services - groupware, email, ownCloud
hosting, corporate assistance + online help e.g. if user can't configure his
latest printer, the specialist remotely logs in into users device and solves
the problem for hourly based payment.

* products - while selling KDE preinstalled software is great, many of KDE
users is capable of installing his favorite distribution themselves.
However, keeping track of 100% FOSS supported hardware is a big headache. So
the "KDE market" could offer empty boxes, who has NO broadcom or similar
crappy chips.

Its probably oblivious, that making such e-commerce solution would require a
low of website building work to be done. And from what I can tell, KDE www
team is already doing great job on supporting current infrastructure, but it
could be out of working hands to build entire new project.

Using Public procurement model, KDE could *outsource* development from real
web design companies. KDE Board/promo creates write specifications and
requirements, how this project should look like. In exchange we offer e.g. 2
years contact with 10-33% of revenue share of the project's income.

The board picks up the best offer.

Since commerce is about make money, making a project auction based makes
sense, so KDE e.V could earn income. As long as entire project would be kept
with total disclosure, I see no reason why not?

I hope this fits with the idea Bernhard is working on?
