There will never ever be a KDE5. KDE is the name of a community and can't have a version number. There are absolutely no plans to release KDE Plasma Workspaces 5.0 anytime in the foreseeable future. The only thing with a 5.0 version number that's going to be released next year (probably summer) are the back-end Frameworks and KF5 will power KPW 4.9 according to current plans. And KF5's pres release is easy: “It's the same as Platform 4.x, just compiled against Qt 5, more modularized, and a few deprecated APIs removed – and unless you're a programmer you won't see a difference.
