as usual, then, i'm in the minority. ;)

there's a middle way here:

* recognizing the efforts of Trinity is justified, it's KDE's customary way

* Trinity is the only significant continuation of our 3.x codebase

* we have much more in common than we do in separation

* those doing the work bear KDE no ill harm and have no issues with 4.x stuff
(other than: they prefer to use 3.x).. in fact, several of them seem to
appreciate where 4.x codebases are going.

* setting up walls between Trinity and Plasma Desktop just gives the pissers
and moaners (on both sides) more fuel for their fire. take that fuel away and
there is less to bitch about. it's our job to bring people together. even when
they say they don't want to (they don't realize they actually do, you see;
they just want their position respected in the process)

this is a moment for healing that is well overdue.

and the true wingnuts can safely mark themselves as such by continuing to
behave poorly in spite of that.

that said, i had an email conversation on their devel list about the tone of
some of the announcements, e.g. on slashdot and elsewhere. they were
apologetic and recognized that they lack experience in these things but didn't
mean it to appear negative. i'll be lending them a hand to proof read their
next release communication to help ensure the next rev is a better one :)
