Lets see highlights of the 4.8 release:

1) A way more functional KDEPIM. Im sure it has become way better than 4.7
2) Polishing and improvements all over KDE (Like overhauled proxy support done 
by Dawit)
3) Fast Dolphin.
4) Nepomuk's improvements and bugfixes and Trueg's successfull fundraiser.
5) QtQuick components for Plasma.
6) Am I missing something? Any of apps got major improvemets which Im missing?

First 4 items are all about polishing, not new features. We should imply the 
myth that KDE developers add features all the time is not true at all.
Recent trend of posting statistics on planet shows that we care about bugs and 
quality of our software. And that a lot of bugs have actually been closed in 
this release. In the aouncement, we should focus on polishing. Maybe we could 
add some statistics for our users as well?

Im thinking about things like:
Number of closed bugs (specially on KDEPIM)
Number of commits (specially to KDEPIM)
Benchmarks on Dolphin's new engine or at least post to Peter's blog post [1]

Also, I dont like the fact that in release anouncements of RC, we totally 
ignore Calligra, Amarok and other parts of KDE which arent included. So maybe 
we should also post about improvements in those areas?
Specially, the Telepathy-land which is the truly exciting. Its the most user-
visible change currently going in KDE-land. We should mark that Telepathy-KDE 
0.2 has been released and its being improved very fast. Maybe even a few 
screenshots or something.
