Unfortunately no; I arrive on the 6th (so will miss much of that day at the 
event) and leave during the day on the 10th ...

I've noticed ;)

I have booked a place nearby that seemed reasonable ... but if for some reason 
that doesn't work out I'll definitely follow your advice :)
