Hi Myriam,

thanks for asking this question, because I forgot to mention it in the 
first mail. The participants first came mainly from comments I posted on 
the big german newssites heise.de, golem.de and linux-magazin.de. Then I 
posted it on reddit.com in the subreddit linux and thats where the most 
votes came from. I also made threads in the relevant forums of the 
"participating" projects.

The voters mainly came from: USA, Germany, Canada, UK, Switzerland.

I don't have the means to promote this Poll to more people, thats the 
reason why you never heard of it. I'm no professional in the linux space 
and did start it just for fun.

If you or someone else has the means to reach more people it would be 
awesome if she/he would promote it some more.
