I remember that I talked to Nuno about this in the first time that I
met him, back in 2009.
I agreee with all that was said by Nuno and Martin but there's one
thing missing - I was talking with Viviane Nonato ( one of the artists
on KDE down here on brazil ) and she asked me where's the HIG for the
K'software, I found it, but it's incomplete and besides being
incomplete, a lot of apps doesn't follow it.

for me the biggest annoyance is still the same annoyance from the KDE
3 times.: app ui too cluttered. ( Kate becomes unusable on a small
screen when hovering the text hidlight menu, because the menu is so
big that it consumes the whole screen )

I do remember everyone that I have 6 students over my wing for the
next 6 months that will work exclusively on KDE, I tougth of putting
them on Umbrello, ActivityManager and Step but they don't have the
required C++ skills to hack on anything complicated for now, so I can
put them to work cleaning the desktop for making it better for desktop
use.
