True, while we might want to associate some of our products more with "cute" 
then others, I would rather set the line between topcis.

If we talk about our products, like in the release announcements, we should 
probably not use any mascots (neither new nor old ones).
However, if we talk about community, I don't see any reason why one could not 
use the new ones when would have used the old ones.

Of course this would be more a rule of thumb, not strict policy.

Since KDE-PIM was mentioned lets take that as an example.
If we were to create a Dot story about Kontact, e.g. how it has support for 
strong cryptography, we would want to have to a "serious" touch and not use 
anything "cute".

However, if we do a development sprint and have lots of fun there, we 
certainly could.
