that sounds quite awesome :D

But does this requires our sysadmins to set up something - and it doesn't seem 
different from the owncloud solution which is real darn easy for this, too.

Then there is Markus' idea of just using the wiki. I'm not too fond of that 
solution, all in all, as it will continue to be awkward - search and 
categorization can be done but are quite a bit of work to maintain (drag and 
drop in folders is several orders of magnitude easier...)

So, Andreas, what does gallery offer over owncloud? And does anybody by any 
chance know how our admins will feel about either?
