However, there's still an ambiguity: is Neon a distro[1], or not[2]?

I think the reach of this ambiguity has been underestimated.

As I said elsewhere, my main concerns with having KDE hosting a project 
providing binaries based on one specific distro is that I don't want issues *in 
the distro* (no matter what it is, even LFS for all I care) to be perceived as 
issues *in KDE software*.
