I failed to explain myself correctly. Of course we would have to have the e.V., the onboarding group, or whichever group would be affected be a concrete action. The difference is that we were thinking of tackling things on a case- to-case basis. Say we were thinking that getting Mozilla into the Advisory Board was a good idea, first we would figure out what would be necessary to do that working with the parties within KDE that would be affected by that decision, before even considering talking to Mozilla. So, yeah, we are on the same page about this, except we (promo) were not thinking of this to be so important as to merit it being a community-wide goal. It is more a goal that would inspire individual, otherwise unconnected, tasks over the next 5 years. This goal was adapted from the "Help establish durable and stable working relationships with Linux/BSD/etc. distribution maintainers and packagers" goal, which is more or less the same thing, but with distros. https://community.kde.org/Promo%27s_Long_Term_Goals#For_Technology > > > it'd > > > be good to take this to the community mailinglist. > > > > Do you think so? I was looking at it as only being a way of achieving Promo's overarching goal of growing the community and consolidating KDE's influence beyond what we already have, not something the whole community should take on board. That said, if you think it is interesting enough to merit involving the community as a whole, sure. I would not want to spearhead something like that though.
