Hi promotion experts,
disclaimer: we are short on resources over in KDevelop camp currently, so
trying to get the most done with min work.
As you may see, we today managed to push out the Beta 1 of KDevelop 5.4. The
announcement is rather short, only hinting to what is inside:
https://www.kdevelop.org/news/kdevelop-5380-released
Idea is this should be fine here, as for one the Beta mainly targets real
testers to test it (that's why also there is an AppImage), packagers to start
adjusting/preparing their packaging, and translators to see what they are
translating (again AppImage as tool).
And everyone else should be just teased, and get the desire to learn more on
the release, if they take notice. Do people work that way? :P
In any case, for the 5.4.0 release then we hope to do a detailed announcement,
incl. pictures, for any splash possible with what was done.
We just started to collect some material on the mailinglist trying to remember
what actually went in and what is interesting. That material I would see to
transform into some pad or wiki page til upcoming WE, then draft something to
have you be inspired where things can be done wrong and what to do instead :)
Rough idea would be to follow what we did e.g. for 5.3:

Who of you may be around next week, so we can work on this together? Where to
meet?
Cheers
Friedrich
