Metadate comment field

Earlier versions of Gwenview had a user comment field that relied on the JFIF 
metadata.
Version 2.1.3 no longer has that field pane available, which in itself is not 
a bad thing as placing a comment on a picture should be a once-only operation.
The problem that I have is that the old JFIF comment field can not even be 
displayed in the "- Information" field. The EXIF comment field can be 
displayed, but that is no good for albums generated by earlier versions of 
Gwenview.
To further compound the problem, the Kipi plugin to edit the metadata does not 
display any existing comment field, this is a known bug and has been resolved 
in the most recent sources but it has not yet made its way to the openSuse 
builds.

Would it be possible to display the JFIF comment field in the "- Information" 
field?

If not would it be possible to migrate JFIF comments to the EXIF field?
