קצת שיחרור קיטור...

אני עובר על כל התרגומים של kdebase כדי לתקן את המצב ולוודא שאנחנו נמצאים במצב 
תקין, והתרגומים נכונים. וזה טוב שאני עושה את זה, כי יש תרגומים שלא עברו עליהם 
כמה שנים טובות (מעל חמש לפי דעתי, אבל תמיד אפשר לבדוק.... ואז להאשים...)

הקיצר, אתמול מצאתי מחרוזת שלא ממש הבנתי. הינה ההודעה שלי אל kde-i18n-doc:
I am trying to translate this message from kdesu:
Makes the dialog transient for an X app specified by winid
What does "transient" mean in this context?

התשובה לא איחרה לבור:
I've added that to the context of the i18n call
"Transient means that the kdesu app will be attached to the app specified by 
the winid so that its like a dialog box rather than some seperate program"

למי שלא מבין, המושג traמsient פירושו "חולף", אבל בהקשר הזה, הכוונה לחלון 
ש"נעול" לחלון אחר. כלומר, עד שהחלון החדש לא יסגר החלון הקודם לא יאבד את 
הפוקוס.

עכשיו אני מתרגם קובץ אחר (kdialog למעשה) ואני רואה את המחרוזות והתרגום הבאים:

המקור: Makes the dialog transient for an X app specified by winid
התרגום: הופך את חולף הדו-שיח בשביל יישום X נקוב על-ידי winid

דרך אגב, מי שמעוניין, התרגום שלי למשפט הוא:
‫משייך את החלון ליישום X המוגדר על ידי זיהוי חלון‬

סתם, שיחרור קיטור...
