האם המילה "יום" נדרשת בכל מקום?

מדובר על הצורה המקוצרת. העובדה שזהו יום בשבוע אמורה להיות מובנת מההקשר.
לדוגמה: באנגלית מדובר על Sat.‎ ולא על Saturday.
