Thank you for helping me...it works! I learned from this that there were several other items that "failed" to configure properly, so I made sure that I had those installed and compiled as well. Now, the only thing that is not available is "resmgr" which appears to be unavailable in Fedora. I'm not sure if that is important or not. My research suggested that it relates to USB drives or maybe all available hardware...a resource manager? Several items that I read indicated that it was not part of Fedora, and one suggested that it was obsolete in SuSe?
Anyway, I am excited to begin using K3b--an invaluable program as I try to use M$ Windoze less and less!
