You cannot assume that both drives can create multi-session disks on ±R
media.  Check by either attempting to burn a disk, or reading
documentation pertaining to each drive.  The latter will probably
involve a trip to the drive manufacturer's web site.

Dunno, TBH.  Having never burned a multi-session DVD, I have no direct
experience of this situation.

Yes, you can.  The existing session doesn't get re-written of course,
but the existing hierarchy gets linked to the new (that's what the
session data is stored for) session.
