K3b has stopped burning DVDs

Hi,

I'm a total n00b to this mailing list, forgive me if I'm getting it wrong......

I'm running Fedora 6 (Linux domain-name 2.6.22.5-49.fc6 #1 SMP Thu Aug
30 13:47:09 EDT 2007 x86_64 x86_64 x86_64 GNU/Linux) and K3b version
0.12.17 (from livna repositry)
My burner is a PIONEER DVD-RW DVR-111D using firmware version 1.29
I'm using Verbatim DVD-R 16x media

K3b has been working fine until a few days ago - now everytime I try
to burn a disk it fails (as far as I can tell its failing to burn
anything so I'm not even getting coasters).

Can anybody shed any light or point me in the direction of an FAQ so I
