I can't comment about Memorex media but I will keep that opinion in
mind; by the way, I have Maxell CDs. Nonetheless, I decided to test
many more of the blank Maxell CDs that I have in order to see if just
maybe the first few I tried (before writing my first e-mail) could have
just been plainly bad media. No such luck. Each of the others I've
tried (maybe 5 or 6 of them) still produced errors.

Interestingly, I was successful in burning data on these suspect blank
Maxell CDs on my Windows XP Home box using Nero (data write and verify
were successful). So.....is Linux and/or K3b all of a sudden so very
sensitive to imperfections in the media? Maybe the CD functionality on
the DVD/CD-RW drive in my Linux box has decided to go haywire since the
last successful CD data write/verify?

If free and disposable time becomes available, I would be reluctantly
willing to swap the Windows and Linux DVD/CD-RW drives and run some tests.
