Hello,
I am burning files that are bigger than 4 GB onto a DVD+R, so I activated
the UDF format and added Joliet extensions for use with Windows. Nothing
fancy, just the default settings. The resulting DVD is not readable under
Windows. Soon, I found out that it doesn't matter if I add files > 4 gb. The
error would also occur with just some small files. As soon, as I use UDF,
the image is broken. The burn process always completes successfully,
according to logs (have a look at attachment).
I also discovered that the burning process itself is not the problem,
because when I select "Create image only" (so I get the bare ISO file on
harddisk) and try to mount it under Windows (with Daemon Tools), the same
thing happens ("Cannot read from drive. The disc seems to be damaged or not
compatible with Windows (XP)"), So it seems to be the ISO file that is
broken.
Strangly though, under Linux the image mounts fine and the Windows Tool
"Isobuster" reads it, where UltraISO does not (no files in view).
Using mkisofs 1.1.7.1 on Debian etch. My Windows XP version is up-to-date.
Any ideas? Thanks.
Regards,
C. Bölitz
