The issue is that the new kernel 2.6.27 has some issues and does not work right with a lot of software that the old kernel had no problems with. K3b works just fine under the old kernel, so until they figure out how to make this new kernel work with all the application that will be under it, the problems will not get fixed. The new kernel 2.6.27 is so messed up that my LG DVD-RW will not work for any type of media. I've made sure that all the proper files were loaded, such as liblame0 and Lame and my other ripping programs work to rip to Mp3 so I'm at a lose as to why K3b will not rip to Mp3 One thing I have noticed is that when I got to settings and then configure K3b and then to programs Lame is not listed with the other necessary programs, like cdrecord. Lame is in two location's /usr/local/bin and /usr/bin I have tried them both but neither one works, Lame works because I can rip an audio CD into Mp3 using kaudiocreator. could you help me figure this out?
