Well I took a look at it and noticed what you mentioned. I tried a different song (without the extra special characters) with the following command line: lame -h --tt Inside Out --ta David Meece --tl Once In A Lifetime --ty 1993 -- tc - /music//David_Meece/Once_In_A_Lifetime/01-Inside_Out.mp3 And the error is "lame: excess arg In". I'm thinking that K3b is supplying something to lame via stdin, but there is something wrong in the command line that is in K3b's configuration (following, but without the quotes): "lame -h --tt %t --ta %a --tl %m --ty %y --tc %c - %f" FWIW, I'm using Kubuntu 8.10 and looked into using KAudioCreator, but there seems to be a dependency problem with kdemultimedia-kio-plugins that gdebi can't resolve. The version installed on the system apparently isn't compatible with KAudioCreator. This is unfortunate because it looks like it's just the ticket.
