screensaver & backgrounds

i run a suse 9.1 on a server, which have a lot of thinclients connected. 
Because i didn't want the thinclients to run expensive screensavers, i 
did the following in /opt/kde3/share/config/kdesktoprc

[$i]
[ScreenSaver]
Enabled=true
Lock=false
Priority=19
#Saver=KRandom.desktop
Saver=KBlankscreen.desktop
Timeout=240


This locked the screensaver configure options ( standard blankscreen 
screensaver ), but all users got a white  background, and can't change 
it anymore.

i have kde 3.4.0 level "b"
