Or perhaps a there should be a new-features mailing list, so people can 
discuss them?  Didn't kde-look used to fill these shoes?  kde-look has kind 
of died off since KDE2 happened, but there are still some sharp chaps who 
lurk there, so sending enough pings there might revive it.

FYI, Marc, someone is already planning an Kicker applet that evaluates 
mathematical expressions.  You might check with them to extend their parser 
to handle the kinds of things you're describing.  This way you could probably 
rely on the parse to decide what app should handle it, which would make a 
nice interim solution avoiding the Ktrader challenges Aaron outlined.
