Just another thought about the topic. It's a good idea, when planning a 
feature, to determine how it should function in every situation. It crossed 
my mind that you would be clicking on things which are not active in any 
way. I think that, causing that 'what's this' info to appear should in no 
way affect the current focus.

This may seem obvious, but I'll explain anyways.

I think that causing it to shift focus would be confusing when using a 
file-browser, and would also cause significant issues. If I have one thing 
selected, then middle click on another, I don't want my selection to change. 
This is most important when I have a group of objects selected, because I 
should also be able to select only a single one of them without changing 
focus.

Like I said, might be obvious, but I thought it was worth noting my opinion 
on that.
